the list: #115 write yourself a letter...

I have to explain something very important about me.

I'm in love;
My heart is taken...
by books.

You've heard it before, mainly by the sixty-year-old English teachers with that distinctive old lady smell, thin cat eye frame glasses, and wildly colorful cardigans who babble on about Shakespeare or Dickens, or the quiet girls who keep to themselves and sit in the back of the class because they're that shy, or Belle. I feel I fall into the Belle category.

I'm a 21 year old normal college student. I listen to Lil Wayne. I go out on the weekends. I watch How I Met Your Mother. I laugh at fart jokes. And I love books.
deeply. thoroughly. maddeningly.

Ever since I was little I've devoured their words and soaked up every lesson they had to teach me.
Charlotte Doyle taught me bravery. Harriet taught me to be a snoop. Hermoine taught me it's alright to be smart. Fitzwilliam taught me about the type of love I deserve. Laura taught me the importance of family. Stargirl taught me it's better to be you. Tally Youngblood, Max, Madeline Beck, the BFG, all took me to far away places, away from my own troubles.

I tell you this just so you'll get an idea of how incredibly cool this one on the bucket list is for me.
While I was on one of my pointless procrastination searches online I stumbled upon a little gem in Esquire magazine about bucket lists. Now, usually I don't use the internet as a source for my bucket list because all of them seem to be the same rewritten ideas framed as if they were spectacularly original like traveling the world or going skydiving.

Esquire got creative.
Kudos to you Mr. Kangaroo.

"Write yourself a letter in a book and look for it twenty years later"

I thought this could go one of two ways.
Option one: Go to good old Barnes and Noble and write the letter in a book there. That means I would have to try and track down one specific book that could be who knows where and find myself in the plot of Definitely, Maybe where fate steps in to find, out of the millions of books in the world, just the one I'm looking for.
The second choice was to go to a library, write it in a book there, come back and rely on the Dewey Decimal System.
Number two won out of common sense.

I went to the library in my hometown where the torrid love affair began and wrote in my favorite book. And yes, I did actually write IN the book. Defacing public property.... check.

I can't even remember what I wrote but I'm excited to go back in twenty years and be able to look back and see where my own book, my own story, my journey has taken me.

the list: #23 join a sorority :)

ALPHA PHI!!!!!!!!
love and AOE

I remember when I was starting my second semester of college, I wanted something more. I wanted to do something out of my comfort zone and take advantage of my youth. Those were my two goals. When rush came around I knew that this would be a whole new amazing experience. But I didn't know how much it would impact my life and open my heart.
It feels so awesome to know that I have a home away from home. They will beat up any boy, liger, or other creature who tries to attack me or my heart. There's been ups and downs but I wouldn't trade it for the world. I love this organization and you truly can't understand it from the outside looking in.
LOVE & AOE

We have had a lot of crazy times too. Boating, Vegas trips, Starbucks runs, Big 'n' Little dates, everything under the sun. I love all of my sisters and I don't know where I would be without them the good and the bad.

#98 own a pet - mister milo

this is what happens when you go to an all Greek white elephant Christmas party and your friend gives you a kitten....
you get attached...
your roommates get attached...
then you name it...
then you ignore apartment rules about pets...
then you're just all in.

meet Milo.
he should hold over my baby fever for about two months.
